PREVAILING VOICE DAILY
22st November, 2020.
Topic: TO THE BRETHREN AT COLOSSE..part 4.
Text: Colossians 2:6-8.

6: As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
7: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
8: Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Apostle Paul was a passionate preacher of the gospel, he wouldn’t want his listeners to miss it. After evangelizing them he was passionate to see them continue in faith.

His message in verse 6 of our passage is ‘ so walk ye in him ‘, it is one thing to receive Christ it is another thing to walk in him. Let’s look at verse 6 in New Living Translation : And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him.

Take note of the statement, ‘ you must continue to follow him ‘, he needed to say that because there are distractions on the way, somethings will come to discourage you as you journey to heaven, so it was necessary for Paul to say, ‘ you must continue to follow him.

Many people have backslided, they lost their faith and commitment to the pressure or pleasure around them. It actually takes conscious effort to continue to follow Christ, we must not lose our faith in him even in the midst of challenges.

Let me pause here for now: it is absolutely important we give all diligence to ensure we continue to follow Christ. God bless you.

PRAYER.
* I receive grace to continue to follow you Lord.
